Adventures in Babysitting!!!! and what are Soldes?

July 5th

Happy belated 4th? Not important here, we are all consumed in World Cup preparations for tonight and Sunday. Next week will be Bastille Day so who says the French don't work hard??? I don't think any French have worked since the first day they played. I can't wait to get a job and start "working" in France. I don't know what I will do with 6 weeks vacation???

So, for those of you that are as pre-school french as me "soldes" are sales!!! Translation: Everything in Paris is supposedly 50% off. Guess things have changed because some stuff is 20%,30% etc. Anyway, like I told my mom, this is like putting a crack addict in a crack house and telling them hey, no smoking crack, okay?!!! I have been shopping almost everyday with my girlfriend and have not bought a thing. Do you hear that MOM and DAD...nothing. I have tried on Gian Franco Ferre tops, Manolo Blanik shoes, Ballenciaga Bags are you following me? But, even at 50% off it is so F(*&()* in' expensive. Some of the bags are $3000 euros = $3800 dollars half off? Who cares? Almost $2000 for a purse? There better be my future husband inside of it and he better be hot and really rich!!! Among other things!!!

Next, did that title say babysitting? Yes, my friends out there in cyberland. I had an interview for a babysitter a few days ago. The little boy, we'll call him baby c or c for short actually liked me? I went to meet the mom and c and we had a chat at her ultra fab apartment. Baby c was so cute (20 mos old) and kept flirting with me and playing. Who knew? So, mom gave me the thumbs up and I might start on Thursday. It is only part time but it is cash and I'll take it! Why can't baby c be 30-something, well educated, rich, like short blondes with no french skills, living in Paris, and willing to support above mentioned "crack habit"? I am not picky right? Well, I guess he is rich, likes me and lives in Paris! I am picky aren't I? Sorry for the psycho-analysis intermission.
